All paddlers are welcome at our annual race on Sunday 20 June.
The race is the perfect leadup to the BV100 as it travels down the first leg of the BV course.
Start: Wivenhoe Common (travelling from Fernvale on Brisbane Valley Highway, turn left just before the dam wall)
Finish: Twin Bridges (travelling from Fernvale, turn left at Wivenhoe Pocket Rd. Bridge is approx. 200m after turnoff)
Course: 15km; narrow winding river, a couple of Grade 1 runs, with some shallow gravels runs. Trailing rudder and footwear strongly recommended.
Rules: ALL paddlers must CARRY A TYPE 2 or 3 PFD. Paddlers U14 or non-swimmers must wear a PFD. ACF marathon race rules apply
It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that ALL paddlers portage the logjam. It is possible to paddle through, but paddlers do so at their OWN RISK. Paddlers that are poor swimmers, not confident in deep water rescue, juniors, and/or novices, are advised to portage. All other competitors are also advised that the portage is DEFINITELY the FASTER route.
