Ewen Maddock Camp


Training Camp

Nine members of the sprint squad took part in a two day camp at Ewen Maddock Dam. The conditions were fantastic due to the overcast weather. A lot of paddling was completed and for some of the beginner AIS talent Id paddlers, a lot of swimming!
The camp was a great opportunity for all to spend more time in the boats and to give us a chance to look at team boat combinations.

Team Building: Victoria Park Driving Range


A get together has been organised for the 10th October at the Victoria Park Driving Range. The bus will be ready to leave the club house at 5.30pm or meet at the driving range at 6.00pm. Nathan Casford wins silver at the State Marathon Championships


Nathan Casford lead the Indooroopilly charge at the recent Qld Marathon Championships. Nathan won a sliver medal in the time of over the 30km distance behind Daniel Jenkins of NSW.
The Indooroopilly Canoe Club was well represented in most age groups. Ian (Bun) Muir finished 1st in the 45 Vets K1 and Sal Gardner won the 65 Vets TK1 event.

Manny Tzvetanova, John Dockray, Michael Beaver, Jacqueline Beaver and Clare Denver all took medals over tthe weekend.

Belcher Takes Silver!


Lani Belcher of the Indooroopilly Camoe Club won a silver medal at last week’s World Championships in Southern France. Lani was beaten by 4 secs in a sprint finish by Louisa Sawers of Great Britain. Lani
completed the 28km course in a time of 1.39.44. Erika Medveow of Hungary finished in 3rd place 2.14min behind Lani Belcher.

Erin O’Keeffe also from Indooroopilly finished in 12th place after spending most of the race in the lead pack. Erin was very competitive throughout the race and was extremely pleased with her results.
